Why I'm standing

I am seeking election to represent the Waiopehu Ward, as I believe our community deserves stronger representation than it has received in the previous term. Waiopehu has the largest ratio of members to councillors, so requires two active representatives. I am committed to being accessible to residents and attending community meetings when invited to ensure ongoing engagement. I bring a deep connection to our community and a commitment to remain in this area.

About me

I have grown up in Horowhenua, in Muhunoa East, Levin and for the last 36 years in Manakau. I have been educated and operated my businesses here. Horowhenua has supported me and now I am retired I have the time and skills to give back to the district. I am a solution thinker not a problem seeker, I speak up and find practical answers. People trust me to deliver results.

My priorities
  1. Ensure rates are realistic. If households have to live within their means, council should too.
  2. Restore public confidence in HDC's decision-making by reducing decisions made behind closed doors.
  3. Create a community where everyone is treated equally and stop the increasing division in our community.
