Why I'm standing

I have been your ward councillor for the last three years. I have enjoyed meeting so many of you during that time and working with the fantastic groups that are the backbone of our community. I would love the opportunity to continue serving our city for the next three years.

About me

I gained an honours degree in chemistry from Victoria University and trained as a teacher. I have served as co-president of Hutt Playcentre Association, where I learned to value consensus decision-making. I am a Justice of the Peace, teach both pottery and photography and try to use these skills to help the community. With my science background, I bring evidence-based decision-making to the council table.

My priorities
  1. Focus on climate change – while the council has made significant progress, we still have a long way to go.
  2. Build and maintain vibrant communities as a key priority.
  3. Improve communication through a CRM, ie an up-to-date way of staying on top of issues you have.
