Why I'm standing

I love our town and our people and I believe it has so much to offer for a small town. I have lived, worked and raised a family here and currently run a business here, so I have a lot of local knowledge and local networks. Kawerau is my community and I would like to ensure it is a place our future generation choose to live and raise a family.

About me

I am of Ngāti Awa descent, have lived worked and raised my whānau in Kawerau. My family has ties to the local mill, where I have also been employed, providing me with an understanding of the community's history, strengths, and challenges. I have established and managed two businesses over 12 years, one of which operates here in Kawerau. My expertise extends to legislation, policy, and procedure development, as well as liaising effectively with government departments.

My priorities
  1. Advocate for equitable and sustainable rates to alleviate financial pressure on households.
  2. Enhance council facilities to provide safe, accessible and inclusive spaces.
  3. Promote economic development initiatives that generate employment opportunities and pathways.
