Mayor of New Plymouth

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the district and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I feel like our district has a lot of value but it is being underutilised by the current administration. We need to take more pride in what we have and promote a healthier and more involved community as well as bringing matters back into the hands of the district. Council contractors need to be more efficient and effective with time and money.

About me

I am a common community man who doesn't seek prestige and status, only to serve and represent the community I have been a lifelong member of with honesty, integrity and accountability.

My priorities

  1. Create a plan for managing our debt, considering short and long-term expenditure necessity.
  2. Ensure projects are reasonable, fulfilled and efficient.
  3. Review underground infrastructure, making repairs and replacements where necessary.
