Why I'm standing

I am frustrated by the lack of stormwater management on the Kerikeri River, and the massive sediment loads entering our harbours during floods. Rates keep escalating as this Council delivers wants rather than needs. Build a solid foundation so that our communities can thrive. Get back to the basic functions detailed in the Resource Management Act 1991. Deliver results rather than talk and report after report with no clear action.

About me

I have lived in or near the Bay of Islands for much of my life and value everything that Northland offers. I enjoy reading and research, a lot of my employment was in horticulture and later in asset management. I enjoy project work, particularly the scoping and delivery, so I have skills that can be utilised in a governance role. I am passionate about plants, our beautiful harbours and heritage. I walk the talk.

My priorities
  1. Implement stormwater control that protects property at Waipapa and adjacent to the Kerikeri River.
  2. Address macro sedimentation loads entering Bay of Islands and Whangaroa Harbour.
  3. Control spread and find suitable bio control for Madagascar Ragwort.
