Why I'm standing

I have been nominated by two female community stalwarts who I admire and respect and there was a vacancy in the Ōtorohanga ward. I whakapapa to all six marae in the district, and my whānau have been in the area for over 20 generations. I have a lot of family and friends in the district, who believe in me and trust in me to do a good job as a councillor for the ODC.

About me

I want all of our town's residents to thrive and prosper. I personally believe that with the new central government reforms, it will be essential that our new council navigate the new legislative mandates in order to continue and progress our Ōtorohanga community's wellbeing. I have a business degree, am self-employed with successful businesses. I serve on multiple community groups throughout the district and I have proven leadership skills. I will do the job.

My priorities
  1. Help reduce council debt and monitor the long-term plan process to keep rates low.
  2. Ensure economic wellbeing alongside social cohesion and community involvement in decision-making.
  3. Rebuild trust in council authority, local institutions and businesses and within the community.
