Mayor of Porirua
The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the city and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing
I'm running because I believe Porirua deserves strong leadership that truly listens and delivers. Too many people are leaving because living here has become unaffordable. I want my kids, their kids and our older generations to be able to live here and thrive. High rates, low value, it's time for accountable, transparent leadership to change council's culture and move Porirua forward.
About me
I am already an elected member and have shown I will speak up, ask the hard questions, and hold council and Wellington Water to account. I've not only raised issues but also put forward amendments to drive greater accountability and value for money. Over the past three years I've stood for transparency and action, building strong relationships across our community.
My priorities
