Why I'm standing

I am standing as I desire to enhance Rodney's welfare, enjoy serving and believe my experience, capabilities and character will make a difference to our quality and cost of living. I long to reduce loneliness in our communities and to represent the vulnerable and those who cannot speak for themselves. I am a conservative with a heart for community, seeking to protect and promote traditional values, our endowed resources and our economy for generations to come.

About me

My wife and I have six adult children and love life in Warkworth. I am a part-time management professor at the University of Auckland, management consultant, charity trustee and member of a Rodney church and the Institute of Directors. I served two years as a volunteer recruit firefighter. I value integrity, honesty and compassion. Combining curious, analytical and creative thinking and encouraging input from diverse perspectives, I have found ways to simultaneously improve outcomes and reduce costs.

My priorities
  1. Facilitate communities that flourish and where loneliness is less prevalent.
  2. Steward endowed resources by caring for, making the best use of, enjoying and sharing them.
  3. Ensure financial prudence with waste reduction, process improvement and appropriate cost-benefit analysis.
