Why I'm standing

I am running to serve my community as a true independent, I am appalled by the party politics that currently undermines communities’ direction in Selwyn. I believe central government parties have no place in local government, as each elected representative should only be there to serve their constituents and no one else. I am bold and not scared to ask the hard questions. I advocate to MPs when Selwyn issues go beyond council’s jurisdiction.

About me

I have worked hard these last three years for my community and will continue to work hard on their behalf. I prioritise community voice, I actively seek local engagement, and I vote in accordance with community wishes. I have been very active in addressing concerns with both council and central government, advocating for both regional and nationwide policy changes that will bring great relief to many. I believe in integrity, honesty, transparency and trust.

My priorities
  1. Commit to tackling unaffordable yearly rates increases.
  2. Improve council’s spending to achieve greater cost effectiveness.
  3. Ensure future council decisions are made with the community, not just for them.
