Why I'm standing

Kia ora. I am running for council as a strong advocate for the climate, our rural communities and to protect the ocean from seabed mining. My priorities are supporting farmers to shift to regenerative agricultural systems for local markets, expanding public transport and improving the health of our rivers, land and sea. Given the state of our planet, it's time for transformative change. We need collective solutions for a just, fair and regenerative future.

About me

I am passionate about rural Taranaki and have experience in working with the land, growing food and serving the community including governance experience and financial management on trusts and incorporated societies. I want to amplify local voices to create positive change for our region. As a market gardener and horticultural educator, I know how to implement diverse community-based farming systems. I pledge to donate half my council salary to local environmental and community projects.

My priorities
  1. Transition to diversified regenerative agricultural systems for local markets.
  2. Expand our public transport network of buses and also look to bring back passenger rail to Taranaki.
  3. Stop seabed mining – our aspiration for future generations is based on regeneration, not extraction.
