Why I'm standing

I believe every person should be seen and heard. It is very important to me that our rural towns thrive, not just survive. I think my relatable life and work experience as well as a farming background means I can bring a strong yet practical and empathetic voice to council.

About me

Growing up on a sheep and beef farm shaped my background, and I've gained experience in community led development. As a volunteer for the Tapawera and Districts Community Council and community connector, I've developed strong connections and communication skills. My values include authenticity, connection between people and nature, preserving community history and transparency and trust. These values are reflected in my work at Thelma House, where my approach is to listen before I lead.

My priorities
  1. Build stronger communities through connection, wellbeing services and resilience planning.
  2. Support the people behind key primary industries, hospitality and small business.
  3. Understand and protect unique fauna and flora with practical balanced solutions.
