Tasman District Council

Moutere-Waimea General Ward
The Tasman District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also passes local regulations and makes decisions about infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage, and about the region’s resources, including water, soil and the coastline. The council is made up of 14 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). three councillors will be elected from the Moutere-Waimea ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I am hoping the people of Tasman are ready to elect a council that will bring about change rather than rubber stamp us into a position where commissioners are appointed.

About me

During my previous two terms I consistently voted for prudent spending and common sense policy. I am hoping with more support we can achieve those objectives this term.

My priorities
  1. Preserve the Tasman District Council as independent and run by elected members.
  2. Refocus on delivering core services well.
  3. Make consultation meaningful again.
