Tasman District Council
The Tasman District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also passes local regulations and makes decisions about infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage, and about the region’s resources, including water, soil and the coastline. The council is made up of 14 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). four councillors will be elected from the Richmond ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. I believe time and again, ratepayers have been let down with higher rates, more bureaucracy and wasteful projects, while core services are neglected. It's time to give council a wake-up call and get back to basics – safe streets, working infrastructure and value for money.

My focus is simple: keep rates affordable, protect core services like roads, water and rubbish, and restore transparency so every dollar can be tracked. As your ACT local candidate, I will provide disciplined, accountable leadership that puts residents first.
My priorities
- Cut waste and keep rates low by focusing council on essentials only.
- Fix basics including roads, drains and water infrastructure that locals depend on.
- Cut red tape so homes and businesses can grow affordably.
