Why I'm standing

I believe it is time for a more youthful voice with fresh ideas to sit at the table. I am youthful with fresh ideas but I was raised with traditional values steeped in Te Ao Māori. I come from a family of community leaders, which I believe has shaped the way I am and the way I think. I am running for election because I believe I can make change for the betterment of all.

About me

I am young but I have served on many boards, from BoT, marae, sports clubs and board of directors. I enjoy good governance structures that support and uphold community aspirations. At 35 I was elected the chairman of my marae and have served that role to this day. That taught me many things about listening to the people, community and the many hapū. If you can resolve anything there, you can resolve anything anywhere.

My priorities
  1. Adopt inclusivity for all peoples within Te Hiku to carry their voices to be heard.
  2. Raise education and awareness, strengthening Te Hiku peoples by improving life skills.
  3. Acknowledge our two founding documents, He Hakaputanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
