Why I'm standing

I want to see Whakaraupō Lyttelton Harbour and Te Pātaka o Rākaihautū Banks Peninsula become a thriving community of people of all ages, cool businesses and incredible scenery. I believe we are custodians of some of Aotearoa's most interesting geography, right on the doorstep of our second-biggest city. I think the potential is endless.

About me

I bring balance and a broad understanding of perspectives. I grew up in a blue-voting farming area. I have also been a journalist confronted with some of our society's biggest disparities and learned that we cannot exist as a fair society without compassion and support. I am a business owner. I am an environmentalist. I am also an avid reader who loves reading everything about policy, then going out and talking to people about it.

My priorities
  1. Strengthen local small businesses through soft supports, networking and tangible benefits.
  2. Improve efforts to reforest the peninsula and maintain excellent harbour water quality.
  3. Encourage eco-tourism and social enterprises.
