Tuakau Community Board

The Tuakau Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Waikato District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of eight members: six members elected by voters, and two members from the Waikato District Council.  This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Tuakau Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

I am seeking re-election to uplift our communities with courage, care and collective action. I am a proud NZ-born Samoan whose heritage, church leadership and lived experience shape my commitment to unity, resilience and belonging. I have seen how decisions affect families and I am here to ensure every voice counts. I want to protect what matters and build a future where everyone feels seen, valued and supported.

About me

I am a proud NZ-born Samoan with deep roots in our community. My church leadership, board roles and community work with iwi reflect my commitment to inclusive, collaborative service. Over my first triennium, I have led with empathy, resilience and clear communication. I understand the realities many families face and bring heart, humility and hope to every decision. I am here to serve with alofa, uplift every voice and lead with integrity for the good of all.

My priorities
  1. Celebrate Pacific, Māori and diverse cultures in public spaces to foster pride, unity and belonging.
  2. Strengthen climate resilience to protect lives, homes and ensure no one is left behind.
  3. Empower our Tuakau community to speak up, take action and shape a stronger united community.
