Waiheke Local Board

The Waiheke Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of five members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Support local communities by reducing harm caused by drugs and alcohol.

  • Ensure communication with all community and sporting groups, supporting them with information about grant opportunities and local board processes.

    Remove permit and cost barriers to large community events that use civic spaces to bring the entire community together in celebration.

    Replace existing pool with a year-round accessible pool that works for everyone in the community – youth, aged and disabled people.

  • Champion initiatives such as a trades academy and a sustainable technology incubator to create local jobs and opportunities for youth.

    Ensure elders can age in place with dignity by providing reliable health services, better transport and suitable housing.

    Support organisations like The Rock and champion new initiatives to provide youth-focused support and activities.
