Why I'm standing

I am standing for council because I want to be part of the team that continues to grow the Waimate District over the next term and beyond. The challenges are real for council; balancing service delivery against the cost of service delivery. We cannot afford to be held back by ideas that do not advance our interests and so I am standing for policies that promote commonsense outcomes for all.

About me

I have lived in the Hakataramea-Waihaorunga Ward for the last 12 years and I really value this area. I am a retired lawyer with 20 years legal practice behind me and I hold strong views about the of the rule of law. I will bring to the role of councillor an inquiring mind, a willingness to ask the difficult questions and deal with problems. I will work for the ward with diligence, integrity and enthusiasm.

My priorities
  1. Challenge climate change hysteria.
  2. Ensure quality water and well maintained roads for all.
  3. Maximise growth and development through the new Resource Management Act changes.
