Why I'm standing

As the current mayor of Wellington it would be an absolute honour to serve another term and work to deliver better outcomes for mana whenua. To see our city thrive with affordable housing and transformational projects that delivers efficient public transport, a full cycleway network and pedestrian friendly streets. A place where our nature and creativity continue to flourish. Most importantly, I want us to ensure we're honouring Te Tiriti with our iwi partners.

About me

As the current mayor I have advanced governance experience. I now want to use that to deliver for the Māori Ward. I am standing for our Māori Ward on council, so I can remain at the table for the decisions that matter most to our people. To protect those massive wins we've had this term. But, I also want to give the Māori Ward the mana it deserves.

My priorities
  1. Honour Te Tiriti with the retention of Takai Here and Pouiwi to ensure iwi partnership.
  2. Increase engagement amongst Māori in our democratic process and Long Term Plan.
  3. Increase visibility and delivery of Tūpiki Ora Māori Strategy.
