Why I'm standing

I don't really want to be standing but the situation has to be addressed. The status quo would not remedy the rates issue and the Westport Flood Scheme needs a complete rethink. I have been active in community flooding issues and I guess this is a natural progression. I like to aims of the Reform ticket and look forward to working with those councillors to implement change.

About me

This would not be the best job I have ever had. Indeed, it would rate towards the bottom of the dozens I have had. I don't aspire to be a politician. I am just a born and bred local retiring back home and seen the need for some action. I question why others haven't stood against the Establishment. Is it because they don't care or do they feel I am up to the task?

My priorities
  1. Implement and encourage those items on the Reform manifesto. The region needs a strong team.
  2. Address the rates issue along with other restructure that the community seems to be wanting.
  3. Promote the rethink of the Buller River flooding strategy.
