Focus on reducing and reusing in line with the waste reduction hierarchy of reduce, reuse and recycle, as not enough attention is paid to the top two.
Reduce litter around beaches and Otago Harbour.
Advocate for more support to remove pest plants such as sycamore from West Harbour.
Champion improvements for a safer and more resilient water supply system in West Harbour.
Support work to improve local stormwater systems and creeks that feed into the Otago harbour.
Make traps and baiting stations available so that residents can increase the populations of birds and insects in their neighbourhood.
Educate residents on the value of collecting rainwater for garden use and to reduce risk of flooding and slips.
Reward residents and groups who reduce waste by becoming plastic free, establishing good composting techniques and community gardens.
