The Whangamatā Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Thames-Coromandel District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of four members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing
I am standing again delivering experience that puts locals first and gets things done. I enjoy the local community and don't enjoy the bureaucracy that makes council difficult to deal with.
About me
I am a one term community board and three terms district councillor, including deputy mayor. I understand the long-term plan and annual plans, how they are built and when things are to happen.
My priorities
- Stay in the game to see projects over 10 years ago completed, eg the nib kerb project and stormwater.
- Develop a recovery and recycling centre at the waste transfer station.
- Provide input into a town spatial plan and trail to the mountain bike park.
