Whangamatā Community Board

The Whangamatā Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Thames-Coromandel District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of four members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I am standing again delivering experience that puts locals first and gets things done. I enjoy the local community and don't enjoy the bureaucracy that makes council difficult to deal with.

About me

I am a one term community board and three terms district councillor, including deputy mayor. I understand the long-term plan and annual plans, how they are built and when things are to happen.

My priorities
  1. Stay in the game to see projects over 10 years ago completed, eg the nib kerb project and stormwater.
  2. Develop a recovery and recycling centre at the waste transfer station.
  3. Provide input into a town spatial plan and trail to the mountain bike park.
