NZ Election 2026

Kapiti electorate

Kapiti covers the northernmost suburbs of Porirua and the Kapiti Coast, including Paraparaumu, Ōtaki, and Plimmerton. The electorate has been recreated for the 2026 election, and is expected to be competitive as the two predecessor electorates, Mana, and Ōtaki, were safe seats for Labour and National. The predecessor Kapiti electorate, which existed between 1972 and and 1993 was similarly competitive, being held by two MPs for Labour and two MPs for National.

Why I'm standing

We need to restore the promise of a fair go: that everyone willing and able has the opportunity to build a life of dignity and security. And when life deals unfair blows, we stand together to support those in need. This is my purpose. A better New Zealand will be my legacy.

About me

I have spent the majority of my working life listening as a journalist and a nurse. I will listen to the concerns of the electorate and look at draft bills in Parliament through the lens of my constituents.

My priorities

  1. Pushing for the establishment of a 24/7 polyclinic as advocated by the Kapiti Health Advisory Group.
  2. Ensuring that social housing groups have access to Crown funding so they can get on with building.
  3. Standing up for consumers by strengthening the Commerce Commission.
