Northcote electorate

Northcote covers many of Auckland’s northern suburbs, including Birkenhead, Glenfield, and Hillcrest. The seat is currently held by National’s Dan Bidois, who was first elected in 2023 (though he also held the seat between 2018 and 2020 after a by-election before losing it in 2020). Bidois won with a margin of 20,807. National also won the party vote with a margin of 43. The electorate has some of the highest proportion of residents aged between 30-45 in the country

Why I'm standing

As the current MP for Northcote, I am standing again to continue fixing the basics and building a better, brighter, more prosperous and safer future for our community and country. I have the skills and experience needed to contribute effectively in Parliament and stand for no new taxes, personal responsibility, fiscal discipline, a thriving private sector and a government that focuses on delivering the basics well.

About me

Parliament is heavy on lawyers and people who have worked in politics, but light on professional economists and people with real-world commercial experience (other than in National). I am a qualified butcher, a Harvard-trained economist, and someone who brings over 15 years' experience working in the private sector and in economic roles in NZ, Europe and Asia. I love the Northcote electorate and will continue to work hard for you.

My priorities

  1. Ensure we grow our economy so that you and your family can get ahead in our community.
  2. Lead the Northcote Community Safety Forum so that crime continues to fall in our community.
  3. Keep pushing for practical solutions to reduce congestion (e.g. yellow lines on Onewa Rd).
