Conservative Party NZ
The Conservative Party is a right-wing party. Its platform consists of reducing the size of government, and opposing abortion, gender diversity and euthanasia. Founded by businessman Colin Craig in 2011, the party has competed reliably in elections, but has never reached the 5 percent threshold for election. It is presently led by Helen Houghton who has a background in primary school teaching, and charity Women's Open Home Charitable Trust.
