Tauranga electorate
Tauranga covers the majority of urban Tauranga while also stretching west to cover communities such as Minden and Te Puna, and also south into the Kaimai Ranges. The seat is held by National’s Sam Uffindell, who was first elected in a 2022 by-election, and was re-elected in 2023 with a margin of 18,980. National won the party vote in 2023 with 46%, followed by Labour on 18%. Between 1984 and 2002, the seat was held by current New Zealand First leader Winston Peters, first as a National MP before founding New Zealand First in 1993.

I'm running because I believe government should make a practical difference in people's everyday lives—so every child has the opportunity to succeed, every worker is treated with dignity, and every community in Tauranga feels safe, supported, and heard.

I bring experience, resilience, and a strong focus on outcomes. My background as an educator means I listen well, build consensus, and stay focused on what works for families and communities. I'm a proud Tauranga local who knows both the challenges of rapid growth and the opportunities ahead for our city. My commitment is to fairness, inclusion, and opportunity and to building a fairer, more inclusive New Zealand, starting here in the Bay.
My priorities
- I'm focused on easing the cost-of-living pressures as Tauranga residents are hurting.
- Protecting and strengthening workers' rights in Tauranga to ensure people have well paid jobs
- Faster, fairer access to health services so Tauranga people aren't left waiting when they're unwell
