Why I'm standing
I believe we could be getting better results for Rodney with a more collaborative, constructive approach than the current oppositional one. We have missed opportunities to have our priorities included in budgets because our current councillor has failed to effectively raise them and win majority support from around the council table. His continuous public criticism of the very people he needs to work with has left him out of favour with his colleagues, and ineffective.
About me
I have the ability to build strong positive relationships with councillors of all political persuasions, and with council staff, that are critical to gaining support for Rodney's priorities. I have spent the last nine years building vital networks and connections and am known for my strong work ethic and responsiveness to constituents. I have proven that I can build an effective team around me that delivers results. I have a track record of achievement.
My priorities
- Increase budgets for maintenance and sealing of roads, and bring forward investment into new roads.
- Ensure footpaths, cycling, and public transport options are on par with the rest of Auckland.
- Clean up our waterways and harbours, insist on better compliance for land use contributing to silting.
