Councils are currently also responsible for managing waste water, storm water and drinking water infrastructure – the ‘Three Waters’. But that may be about to change, with central government seeking to shift the delivery of Three Waters services to four new larger entities, which could borrow enough to upgrade the country’s water infrastructure.

Address problems with Hunua Reservoirs to take pressure off Waitākere reservoirs.
Review the purchase of rubbish bin tags when rates should cover the service already.
Ensure rubbish and recycling measures are fit for purpose.
Commit to working with central government on any new water policies.
Commit to improving animal control and dog licensing laws.
Advise local communities on improvements needed and I will support/assist the newly elected local board members.

Implement the Waste Minimisation Plan to encourage reuse and conservation.
Work with the Three Waters entity to provide greater accountability for Auckland residents, relative to the size and scale of our city.
Improve emergency management to handle droughts and flooding better, with local community resilience plans.
I oppose the Three Waters model of governance and submitted against the Water Entities Bill to Select Committee with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
Support focus on keeping litter off our footpaths and streets with regular cleaning programmes to reduce rubbish in our streams and beaches.
Support Business Improvement District projects to upgrade our local towns and keep them safe places to shop.
