Christchurch Central/Ōhoko Constituency
Environment Canterbury is the regional council for Canterbury. It makes decisions about managing resources in the region, such as air, water, soil and the coastline. It also carries out plant and pest control, helps prepare for natural disasters, and is involved in regional transport. The council is made up of up to 16 councillors. 14 councillors are elected to represent constituencies (areas in the region), including two councillors from the Christchurch Central/Ōhoko constituency. Up to two councillors can be appointed by Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Consult with all stakeholder groups to define how Environment Canterbury can remove barriers to progress.

    Bring my experience in local body public relations up to date with new trends.

    Define current issues in education affecting labour shortages and school attendance that reduces community cohesion and creates division.

  • Support and work with local businesses and communities, focusing on their needs, especially post-COVID.

  • ECAN's core function is to protect our water and environment and provide an efficient public transport service. They have failed.

    The current process of ECAN issuing permits and consents has to be simplified, cheaper and non bureaucratic. All these services audited.

    Stop all ideologically driven policies.
