The Gore District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 11 councillors and the mayor. This election is for the three councillors elected by all voters in the district. The other councillors will be elected to represent wards (areas in the district). This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Support community events that local residents can enjoy, and iconic events that benefit our small businesses.

  • Encourage and support festivals, competitions and other activities that attract visitors to the district.

    Actively promote the rich arts and heritage values of the community and the organisations that provide them.

    Investigate the feasibility of providing a new community hall in Gore available for use by the public.
