Why I'm standing

The Gore District has been home for all of my life. I am passionate about both the place and the people. I want to do what I can to contribute to the legacy the current generation has inherited. My family connection to this place stretches to six generations and I want to ensure that my grandchildren have all and more of the opportunities I had to grow and prosper in a safe place.

About me

I have had the privilege of serving as your mayor since 2004. In that time I have developed skills and strong connections, locally, regionally and nationally that will help as we negotiate the coming role changes the government is demanding of communities. Change is challenging however through these changes I believe there will be opportunities that will build our capacity and capability. I am committed to giving my all for the next three years.

My priorities
  1. To build the capability and capacity of Gore District where ever and whenever opportunity appears.
  2. Lead a team focused on doing the the best for the community whatever the circumstances.
  3. Ensure that the opportunity for residents to regularly engage with elected members is available.
