Grey District Council

Central Ward
The Grey District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of eight councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Three councillors will be elected from the Central ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Grey District Council election.

Why I'm standing

I see the future clearly. We have an unprecedented opportunity before us to choose utopia or continue on our now visible trajectory towards armageddon. We have the resources, the knowledge, the technology and hopefully the wisdom to rapidly transform our society into one of equity, sustainability, prosperity and enlightenment. Conventional money-based economics have run their course. We can continue our evolution as a responsible, emergent and developing species. We're not called humanKIND for nothing.

About me

I am on a journey of education, discovery and adventure. With the profound possibilities and opportunities that the resource based economy offers, we can now choose a better pathway for ourselves and the planet. The time is overdue for a paradigm shift in the trajectory of humanity. We have learned so much and can now utilise that learning to move from a lose-lose trajectory to a win-win for all near-future scenario.

My priorities
  1. Care for the most vulnerable, our 'canary in the coal mine'. If they've problems, so have we.
  2. Discuss new solutions. With so many problems, it's time to consider new alternatives. There's heaps.
  3. Open up the conversation. Let's hear from all parts of our society. Everyone's input is needed now.
