Hauraki District Council

Paeroa Ward
The Hauraki District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 13 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Four councillors will be elected from the Paeroa ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I'm a third generation Paeroa person. It's heart breaking to see what's become of employment here. Paeroa has become a fixed income retirement town. Our biggest employer is the council. So ok that's where we are – let's make this the best retirement town in NZ.

About me

I'm not a gregarious social person. I'm not a person who's only going to show up when there's a camera around. I don't kiss ass and I get things done.

My priorities
  1. Development.
  2. Streamlining costs.
  3. Waste reduction.
