Mayor of Horowhenua

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the district and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Establish a working group around the memorial hall Levin concept and how it complements the town strategy/plans.

    Council being a positive and proactive enabler of strategic annual events that require assistance, advice and support, in kind, financial.

  • Invest in more playgrounds, sports grounds and facilities to ensure that our district is family friendly.

    Continue to support our rural halls as important places for our smaller communities.

    Investigate opportunities to reduce cost and increase the financial viability of community spaces like pools and libraries to offer more.
