Mayor of Kaipara

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the district and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. I believe Kaipara is beautiful and has potential to be a bustling and vibrant district where both young and the old can live happily together.

About me

I have leadership experience of three decades in both commercial and community environments. I'll endeavour to lead a team of councillors who provide robust, fair, and transparent decision making. My education and financial experience in global environment will help in better management of ratepayers' funds. I am a person of integrity, responsible and fair minded. A rate payer resident of Kaipara for more than six years, I am dedicated to its all round progress.

My priorities
  1. Cut wasteful expenditure on unnecessary consultants and unviable projects and keep rates affordable.
  2. Endeavour to provide robust, fair and transparent decision-making to deliver the best outcomes.
  3. Improve infrastructure and services for youth and the elderly, sports, drainage and all water needs.
