Katikati Community Board

The Katikati Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Western Bay of Plenty District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members: four members elected by voters, and two councillors from the Western Bay of Plenty District Council.  This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Katikati Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

Too many reasons to list. Footpaths. Gross vehicle mass (GVM) ban for big trucks. Personal pride for retail premises. Fauna in the main street (sides). An EV charger needs to be installed. Statues and art promotion in main CBD.

About me

I am from Katikati. Born and raised. My girl starts college next year. I like drawing and art. I have been on the rugby club committee for three years. Love all sport. I would like to see not too much residential growth in Katikati. If it 'has' to happen we need infrastructure developed accordingly. More things to educate and entertain youth is important and just being implemented now, which is great.

My priorities
  1. A Gross vehicle mass (GVM) restriction, alternate route or Bypass is becoming important now. Urban speed cameras in town.
  2. Make the town develop and become modern and attractive.
  3. More statues like Waihi has. More Māori/cultural and historical art around town.
