Katikati Community Board

The Katikati Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Western Bay of Plenty District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members: four members elected by voters, and two councillors from the Western Bay of Plenty District Council.  This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Katikati Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

I believe we need to ask those questions that are not answered. Perception is the key to understanding. When will our youth be supported on their career journeys? When will our elderly who have the knowledge be valued? Why do we have the highest rates but fundamentals like roads, pathways, and housing are not being addressed? What do we need to do to get our needs addressed and receive funding!

About me

I have been learning all my life. In the last 20 years, I have gained bachelor's degrees in business management, information systems and psychology. I have specialised in change management, organisational change and the unrest that this produces. Knowing how to build, grow and evolve in this economic climate is needed more than ever! Let me help move us through the changes we are going to experience over the next three years.

My priorities
  1. Enable and empower youth with more career pathway options, build and develop their community awareness.
  2. Listen, support, promote elderly, their opinions matter and are important in growing our community.
  3. Support, empower and promote local businesses to become more within the community – buy local.
