Katikati Community Board

The Katikati Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Western Bay of Plenty District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members: four members elected by voters, and two councillors from the Western Bay of Plenty District Council.  This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Katikati Community Board election.

Many councils help support local business and economic development. Some promote tourism in their area, or provide business support services and grants.

  • Work with agencies for a better wrap around of training and government and itinerant employment.

  • Youth – enable more career pathways for youth to succeed into employment. Empower youth to help build and develop their community.

    Elderly – listen, support, promote their value to the community. Their opinions matter and are important in growing our community.

    Local business – support and empower their businesses to become more within the community. Promote local business – buy local.

  • For Katikati retail, getting heavy trucks off the CBD area is a necessity. We could make our town so much nicer aesthetically.

    Thursday or Friday night trade would be awesome. Street entertainment etc in the summer. Needs to start with town appearance and footpaths.
