Mayor of New Plymouth

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the district and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the New Plymouth District Council mayoral election.

Why I'm standing

We have a fantastic province and I believe we as a community can build a better future for all of us.

About me

I've lived and worked in our community all my life, I understand people's needs, I have lived and felt their pain just like them, and am a believer in equality. l care about all people.

My priorities
  1. Three Waters – we must say no to this as a community and make our voices heard!
  2. Water meters – this will not fix our underground infrastructure it will only more control and expense.
  3. Infrastructure – let's fix it once and stop duplication of effort not up to standard not paid.
