Northland Regional Council

Coastal Central General Constituency
The Northland Regional Council makes decisions about managing resources in the region, such as air, water, soil and the coastline. It also carries out plant and pest control, helps prepare for natural disasters, and is involved in regional transport. The council is made up of nine councillors. Councillors are elected to represent constituencies (areas in the region). One councillor will be elected from the Coastal Central constituency. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I am seeking re-election to continue my environmental work on council. As a second-term councillor, I will have experience, strong networks and greater influence, I will be able to achieve even more.

About me

I have three years of experience on council, my previous career is in freshwater conservation throughout Northland, I am a qualified freshwater ecologist, I am a diligent hard worker and a good listener.

My priorities
  1. Freshwater Plan Change 2023 – ensuring effective rules for freshwater quality improvement.
  2. Climate action – ensuring all action achieves co-benefits for biodiversity and natural ecosystems.
  3. The voice of our communities is heard – connecting with communities and tangata whenua at the start.
