Why I'm standing

I have been privileged to live work and play in one of the worlds most pristine environments. I want my children and my grandchildren to be able to enjoy the same privileges as I have. I want to contribute to the development of Northland, keeping our rates affordable while having the biggest impact on preserving our natural environment and developing our economy, making our roads safe and ensuring it is a region of choice.

About me

I am experienced in both management and governance. I retired from the NZ Police after spending 12 years as the area commander. I was elected councillor for six years. I am passionate, driven, focused and reliable with strong ethics and integrity. As the Northland Regional Council Councillor I had a strong focus on developing relationships to enable a safe, economically viable and environmentally sustainable Northland. I listen to others views and I am confident with expressing mine.

My priorities
  1. Initiating community, Iwi, hapū and ratepayer collaboration focussing on climate change resilience.
  2. Influencing central government to work on an integrated transport pod including, rail, road and maritime.
  3. Creating an environment that recognises that rate payers are not a never ending source of funding.
