Otago Peninsula Community Board

The Otago Peninsula Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Dunedin City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I am passionate about building vibrant, connected communities that celebrate diversity and wellbeing. I am standing as it's important all of our Peninsula communities have strong representation and a board that truly serves. I want to see a board that uses its full influence to council to lobby for more equitable housing for whānau. It's important we create a circular thriving economy and a community that is resilient and adapts to climate change.

About me

I am a leader who works at grassroots level, connecting with those who are on the ground in our community. It is those people who truly understand the make up and what's needed to make improvements. I will use my governance, strategy and communication experience to act as intermediary between community and council to enact change. I am an experienced manager and strategic in my planning.

My priorities
  1. Work with mana whenua, community and council to build climate change and disaster recovery resilience.
  2. Work with council to expedite the completion of the Peninsula Connection Project.
  3. Build greater capacity and improved public transport options that fits the needs of our peninsula.
