Ōtaki Community Board

The Ōtaki Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Kāpiti Coast District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of five members: four members elected by voters, and one councillor from the Kāpiti Coast District Council.  This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Ōtaki Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

We have a great town doing great things, we need to ensure that intensification doesn't dilute that. The infrastructure needs to keep up with the developments and our people's concerns about this need to be listened to.

About me

I have served our community well in three of the last four trienniums, my passion is working in our community for our community. I enjoy chairing the Ōtaki Community Network Group, this gives all agencies delivering a service to our community the opportunity to network and work collaboratively. Ōtaki Health and Wellbeing and the foodbank are also my passion. My Rotary commitment as district governor shows I am passionate about community service.

My priorities
  1. Improved public transport for better connectivity heading both north and south.
  2. Affordable housing, keeping Ōtaki whānau in Ōtaki.
  3. Ensuring our people get the services they require.
