Ōtaki Community Board

The Ōtaki Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Kāpiti Coast District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of five members: four members elected by voters, and one councillor from the Kāpiti Coast District Council.  This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Ōtaki Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

We have an incredible local community here in Ōtaki. I see huge potential in our community's existing voluntary groups and I believe there is an opportunity to coordinate this volunteerism more effectively. My vision is for a resilient community with a strong commercial heart.

About me

Having run my own businesses for the last 20 years, I can bring a commercial mind to the community board (and council) so that we are focused on projects that will provide positive outcomes for everyone.

My priorities
  1. To understand the needs of existing local organisations and how to support them better.
  2. To be an advocate for local Ōtaki issues on the council.
  3. To listen – you tell me.
