Oxford-Ohoka Community Board

Ohoka-Swannanoa Subdivision
The Oxford-Ohoka Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Waimakariri District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members. Members are elected to represent different subdivisions within the community board area. Three members will be elected from your area. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Promote balanced growth in keeping with the current Operational Plan and the widely consulted on, proposed District Plan.

    Encourage growth in areas well connected to existing development and less vulnerable to flooding.

    Communicate local issues around housing and planning with the council.

  • Manage increases in population in a measured and thoughtful way that fits with the unique culture of our community.

    Ensure that there are adequate recreation areas for people of all ages, including walk/cycleways, playgrounds, picnic areas etc.
