Petone Community Board

The Petone Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Hutt City Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I love the Petone Community Board area that covers a wide range of communities with varying needs and wants. I would love to be re-elected and continue to serve the wider community because I want to advocate for voices of our communities that I represent and engage with, particularly ones that I can currently see are missing out, for the benefit of the present and well into the future.

About me

Born and bred in Te Awakairangi ki Tai/Lower Hutt, I have spent my life living in Moera and Waiwhetū. I have a mix of experiences in various sectors; have been involved in governance for over a decade. I am super passionate about environmental and social justice; I enjoy bringing people together. I love this area continuing to work, volunteer and play here, and most importantly I am grounded in the community.

My priorities
  1. Community – ensuring our people have a strong voice at the table advocating and representing well.
  2. Collaboration – I am passionate about working with others and making sure real engagement occurs.
  3. Environmental resilience – making sure we have a great present, but also a secured future.
