Why I'm standing
I believe in Porirua and am committed to helping the city grow while keeping our residents safe and healthy. In the current term we have made substantial progress investing more than ever in the three waters, roading, protection of the natural environment and our harbour and addressing climate change. I want to ensure that the city continues to thrive and can deal with the new challenges facing local government.
About me
Under my leadership, over the last three years the council has been stable, unified and effective despite the unforeseen challenges of a pandemic and the resulting economic uncertainty. As Mayor, I've shown over the last three years that I'm always upfront and tell it like it is. I've never let politics get in the way of delivering the best outcomes for Porirua.
My priorities
- Ensure our core infrastructure is fit for purpose and provides for our residents daily needs.
- Future proof Porirua against the climate crisis. We need to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Ensure that the ecological quality of our two harbours is restored.
