Why I'm standing

I believe the ratepayers and residents of the Upper Clutha deserve better from the council: better communication; better amenities; better decision-making; and strong leadership as we enter a period of significant challenges addressing major reforms proposed by the government.

About me

Having previously served as a community board member and councillor for 12 years, and as deputy mayor for six of those years, I have the knowledge and proven experience to provide this district with capable, credible and effective representation. I am 100% committed to successfully working through the significant changes being imposed by central government, growing and diversifying our economy, addressing the corresponding social implications, and ensuring we are resilient to our changing climate.

My priorities
  1. Review the delegation register to ensure accountable elected members make most of the decisions.
  2. Review the progress of the capital programme to ensure targets are being met.
  3. Improve communication, transparency and relationships with communities.
