Why I'm standing

I took an unintended step in standing for the Rangitāiki Community Board. I hope to be making good decisions that improve the quality of our district and local communities. We are entering a time of change, with an economic recession beginning, reforms to key legislation, such as the Resource Management Act, Three Waters, Local Government Act reform, etc. Therefore, passionate, involved and progressive democratic decision making is vital to the health of our district.

About me

I am a professional and accredited environmental planner, I have worked with a number of district and regional councils, and now work in the private sector. I'm passionate about making good planning decisions and achieving quality environmental outcomes. My background has provided me with the tools and understanding of how council runs, and what is achievable. It is our responsibility to future generations to provide them with a high environmental standard.

My priorities
  1. Support the development of cycleway networks on the Rangitāiki Plains that connects to Whakatāne.
  2. Support the continued improvement of services, such as finally reticulating wastewater in Matatā.
  3. Support planning policy to avoid, remedy or mitigate adverse effects while promoting good outcomes.
