Te Ipu Wai Auraki General Ward
The Rotorua District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 10 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Six councillors will be elected from the Te Ipu Wai Auraki General ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

Rotorua is in my DNA. It is where my family has lived for 24 generations. I am passionate about Rotorua and see education and economic opportunity as critical to our future. Rotorua can show Aotearoa/NZ what it takes to provide effective solutions for our people, and especially those who are most vulnerable. I look forward to representing you again on Council, working authentically for the sustainable wellbeing of all.

About me

I am a proud mother of three young adults, raised in Rotorua. My eldest is Down Syndrome. I have strong educational and governance experience. I am connected with our schools, community, iwi and people. I have a voice that reflects many voices of our communities.

My priorities
  1. Improve infrastructure, consolidate partnerships, build capacity and capability and increase housing.
  2. Support thriving communities, including better public spaces that are inclusive.
  3. Protect our unique environment by investing in our lakes and water quality. Partnership with iwi.
